If we don't recite the Quran, or don't know about it, sometimes we only perform external worship, while our hearts don't perform internal worship. In fact, both should be done together so as not to be lame. Islam is about doing inner deeds and avoiding inner prohibitions. An example of an inner prohibition is not being willing to accept Allah's fate. If we do not avoid the inner prohibitions and do not perform the inner obligations, what does it mean to be Muslim? The heart will be empty. If the heart is evil or rotten, it is empty. Islam is in charge of cleaning the heart. If our hearts are not clean and pious, what does it mean to be Muslim? Why are we only willing to accept the commandments of prayer and fasting, but leave the fardhu commandments such as tawakal, patience, and so on? In fact, the one who commands is one, Allah. The book is also the book, the Quran. Allah has summarised the whole practice of faith, named "patience".
